I'm so unfit i'm scared to make a start

Start where your at. You do not need to put your body under unecessary stress... never do more than you are able to at the outset. In other words, if you haven't done any exercise since 1998, it wouldn't be wise to dust off your trainers and go for a run straight away.

You need to build up a base level of fitness to start with and let your body adapt to the new stress being placed on it. Simply you need to get your body used to using more oxygen and working slightly harder than your usual sedentary lifestyle that it has been used to.

Each time you exercise your body will adapt to the stress, so the next time you come to train it will be easier. So train and make it easier, stop training and it will only be harder the next time you pick up your trainers.


Remember it takes 4-6 weeks to start getting fit and only 2 weeks to lose it. Don't give up. Training and keeping fit is a constant process.
